Once you have decided about your party budget you can choose the type of party you would like to organize. Explore and think over the three possibilities:
- organizing the party in collaboration with a lingerie boutique or store
- hire a Party and Event Coordinator
- do it yourself
The type of party you choose will highly depend on your party budget.

Some lingerie stores and boutiques offer as one of their services assistance in organizing lingerie party. Many do this in order to attract new customers. There are two major ways in which you can collaborate: 1. Some will sell you a party kit containing catalogues and lingerie samples. You may either receive certain discounts automatically for buying the kit or you will be provided a discount in case you reach a certain level of sales at your party. 2. Some may offer to attend your party and present lingerie as well as organize some party games. In this case as a hostess you may also receive certain benefits like discounts or percentage from sales but you will be also expected to pay a certain fee as well. Every boutique and store will take a different approach. However, in both above mentioned cases you will have to invest in party organization, decorations, food and drink.

In case you have a bigger budget you may decide to go with a party organizing company, which will arrange everything for you after agreeing on details with you of course. Keep in mind that this would be your most expensive option.

If you decide you want to have more control over planning, organizing and holding the party and you want to keep the party budget down go with the do-it-yourself variant.

Step 3: Party Theme, Informality Level

Decide on your theme and the level of informality you would like the lingerie party to run in. Here you should take into account what type of people you would like to invite. If it is going to be a big crowd of people of various ages and relationship to you, you might prefer to spare your Granny the shock of watching a crowd of scantily clad young ladies having the time of their lives. If you are organizing a party for girlfriends and feel comfortable about dressing down to underwear in their company have a lingerie-only dressing code at your party. The invitation is a very important part of hosting a successful party. The invitation should inform the guests about the event, theme of the event, what the guests should expect from the event as well as the party attire.

Invitations can be made in a formal style or in a fun and informal manner depending on the occasion and the crowd invited. If you are having a theme party, set your theme starting with the invitation. Make it fun and use a rhyme or a poem, or make it in the form of a game or a puzzle. Your invitation should make your guests excited about the upcoming event. Look at it as a form of your party advertising!

You can create your own invitations if you have time, like to use your imagination and have all the necessary material to bring your idea into reality. To create your own exclusive party invitations you might need as little as just your imagination, computer and nice paper or you can invest into do-it-yourself invitation kits. Such a kit will give you an opportunity not only to customize your invitation but to have a high quality result that will impress all of your guests. You can also buy the elements of do-it-yourself invitation kit separately at a stationary supply stores. ( blank invitation cards, gold color pen, adhesive decorative elements, sample body lotions, florists’ decoration elements etc.) Your guests will appreciate receiving a hand-made personalized invitation that you put your efforts and creativity into.

If you do not have time or capacity (perhaps your guest list is way too long to work on each and every invitation) order them online or buy at a party supply store (such as Café Press). If you order them online you can still use your creativity when putting them together!

Step 5: Decorations and Creating the Right Atmosphere

Lingerie party decorations should go with the party theme and your aim is to create the right atmosphere and mood. Your goal is to make everyone feel as soon as they enter your party that they are in a completely different world.

Main elements to create the right party atmosphere:
• General decorations for the rooms (from flowers, candles, ribbons to inflatable palm trees, theme bar decorations, posters, etc.)
• Table decorations (tablecloth, napkins, centerpiece, name cards etc.)
• Background music or/and videos, slide shows
• Lighting (lamps, candles)

Think through your approach to decorations. For example, if your party is a formal event, then your choice for colors should be calm pastel. Or if you are having a wild girls' night, set up the mood with brighter decor in corresponding to the theme bright colors.

Step 6: Entertainment, Party Games

Atmosphere and entertainment: Consider setting up a video according to your party theme as a background entertainment for your guests and a way to create the theme atmosphere. For example if you are having a Brazilian Night set up a video of Brazilian Carnival; if it is Sex and the City Night put on The Best of Collection of these series. Another alternative to a background video is a slide-show on your PC. For example, if you are having a Greek Mythology night, set up slide-show featuring Greek Gods and Greek myths. Lingerie Modeling: If you think your guests are willing, consider modeling lingerie yourselves. This will certainly be fun and will add excitement to the party. If you think your guests are too shy or conservative for this, consider hiring some lingerie models. Models can be hired less expensively than you might think. You can book directly with the model or through an agency. The internet is full of modeling websites and many models would be willing to model lingerie at your party. But some models may not be reliable and if they do not show up at the last minute, this can ruin your party. If you book with a reputable agency, they will be more reliable but more expensive. Either way, make sure you have a contract in place specifying the costs and the start / finish time, as well as other requirements (will you be taking photos, videos, etc).

You can organize general party games as well as games focused on lingerie for your lingerie party. Once again take into account guests’ age, level of familiarity with each other and preferences. If some or all of your guests don’t know each other you need to plan a couple of “ice-breakers” – games or activities that will make them feel comfortable with each other. Plan some competitive games where you could have your guests interacting with each other and winning some prizes.

Tip: Plan more games than you are likely to need. In some cases, you may find that guests are eager to play more and you will want to be prepared for that. With some groups, too many games may overdo the intensity of entertainment as ongoing game playing can create a stressful and sometimes chaotic atmosphere. Your guests need time to socialize, relax if they want, enjoy the party atmosphere. You should sense when the games are enough and turn their attention to something else, such as food, drinks or other entertainment. It can be helpful to create a party plan. A plan will help you to organize the party better, and budget the time for various activities etc.

Step 7: Food and Drink

In our everyday life food is the source of nutrition and at your party it should be the source of pleasure and fun. Depending on your party budget, you can choose between the following options of cooking and serving your party food:
- make a nice selection of easy to handle but stylish finger food and serve as a buffet
- cook more sophisticated dishes and serve it yourself or place in the table center
- have your party menu delivered by a catering company and served by waiters.

Finger food or buffet style food does not necessarily mean simple type food. You can always make it interesting, sophisticated and of course delicious. Consider serving canapés, mini-pizzas, bread sticks with a selection of tasty dips and using pre-made fillable pastry cups, wonton wrappers, crackers that you can top or fill with various salads etc. And remember presentation is one of the most important parts about party food – make it look simply irresistible!

If you are planning to treat your guests to a three-course dinner that you will cook yourself, you risk to be quite exhausted on the day of the party. To avoid this we advise:
- do not over-plan your menu
- use at least some pre-made dish or dish-elements (like sauces, décor, stuffing, dough etc.)
- make a list of products, plan of cooking activities and plan time you will need for each dish
- ask your best friend for help.
